Defected Records presents the debut album from YOURS, the innovative, multi-faceted, London-based creative collective. A unique, 13-track body of work that showcases the group’s diverse musical influences, What’s Mine Is YOURS is delivered with masterful polish, as each member of YOURS brings their individuality and experience to the fore.
Launched in 2023 by esteemed Irish vocalist Maverick Sabre, revered producer New Machine, whose recent production credits include Jorja Smith, Kano, Plan B, Aitch and Bakar to name a few, Jake Hall, founder of eponymous brand By Jake Hall and stylist to stars such as Mike Tyson, David Beckham and Gigi Hadid, and his brother Sonny Hall [SÓLLER], the group continue to redefine what it means to be a dance act in 2024.
Utilising their varied experience to produce innovative and genre-defying dance records that are always accompanied by dynamic visual elements and often filmic music videos, the unique dynamic of the group sets them apart. With Jake responsible for all the release artwork, his input has created a distinctive visual identity for the group.
“This album really was created out of experimenting, not trying to make an album, not even meaning to create a group. We were just friends having fun throwing paint at the wall, New Machine and I have made music together for years but never in a full album project form. Bringing the Hall brothers into our world, and us into theirs, we were just making tunes we would want to go out to.
We have had a journey as a collective through this process. We have found a new respect for groups that stay together for years. We’re four loud characters that have strong individual opinions, when it goes right, we’re unstoppable, when it doesn’t, it gets rock n roll.

This album is an important one for me. It’s the first album I’ve produced in its entirety. First album I’ve had involvement in on music video treatments, musically directing band members, the artwork, mixing, mastering etc. So a lot of firsts for me.

Debuting on Defected in 2023 with summertime hit ‘DÒNDE ESTÁ’, YOURS have continued to go from strength-to-strength. From being remixed by house legends Masters At Work, to producing cinematic music videos, receiving widespread support from national UK and Irish radio stations and press, and recording a live session at the world renowned Abbey Road Studios with a full band, What’s Mine Is YOURS is another tangible example of YOURS’ unwavering dedication to their craft.

The YOURS collective also offer their live proposition, which comes as both a live ensemble, first brought to life at Abbey Road Studios with a full band, as well as hybrid DJ sets that has seen them grace festival stages at Defected Croatia and iconic clubs such as fabric London, Ministry of Sound, Ushuaïa and Lío Ibiza. A physical manifestation of their infectious energy, YOURS have also hosted one-off events of venues such as Soho House and The Ned, bringing the joyous energy of their music to life with full takeovers of the venues. Bringing in over 700 sign-ups for their first takeover at Soho House’s 40 Greek Street, the appetite for YOURS’ live showcases is evident in the reaction.
As distinguished creators, all with impressive solo ventures, the collaboration between this unexpected quartet makes them most exciting new acts on the scene, with What’s Mine Is YOURS an unmissable album debut.
