Veteran beats-smith Dave Jones, best known for his feisty aliases Maddslinky and Zed Bias, will release a new album as the latter next month.
Boss, due out on cult bass-angled club label Swamp 81, features 10 new tracks (eight via vinyl format) – two with fellow Swamp 81 artist Chunky and one with Chicago house legend Roy Davis Jr (entitled We Are There). Bias rose to particular prominence during the UK garage boom of the late 1990s but listeners can expect a far wider beats ‘n’ bass repertoire with his latest offering.
Boss, Bias’ fifth album, immediately follows long-players Birth Of The Nanocloud (2011) and Equilibrium (2012), both released on imprint Tru Thoughts. Bias has been associated with Swamp 81 owner Loefah for a number of years now, well received EPs Stubborn Phase (2011) and Furrball/Boiler (with Paleman, 2013) finally leading to the new album.
Boss is released by Swamp 81 on November 18.
