The Classic Music Company pushes forward with its ‘Classic Through The Eyes Of’ series this September, this time enlisting the services of American DJ & producer, Honey Dijon.

A Chicago native now residing in New York, Honey Dijon, has been taking huge strides in her career as of late, releasing material with the likes of Nervous, Skint, and DJ Sneak Classics to name but a few. Dijon, has also developed a strong connection with the fashion industry, the past few years have seen Honey select the soundtracks for esteemed fashion shows in Paris and New York, as well as writing a fashion column for V Magazine, and even receiving a shout-out for her skills on British sitcom, Absolutely Fabulous.

A member of the family from day one, Honey’s Classic connections go way back. She’s DJ’d at the parties and remixed for the label so a mix compilation was the logical next step.  The critically acclaimed mix compilation series ‘Through The Eyes Of’ has seen Matt Tolfrey, Severino, and Zombie Disco compile the first three volumes. With this next release Honey has reshaped some of her favourite classic cuts, and crafted some original content, to provide six exclusive tracks for the comp, adding a fresh, unique spin to what’s on offer.

Looking over the track listing it’s safe to say there’s an underlying sense of musical enlightenment in the selection, with inspiring records like Blaze’s ‘Lovelee Dae’, Chris Nazuka’s ‘Something Between…’ and Metro Area’s ‘Pina’, all freshly featuring in the seventeen track mix.

Further highlights come in the shape of Lil Mark’s ‘At That Place’, a rugged, acidic workout, while the stunning melodic beauty of Isolee’s ‘Beau Mot Plage’ reworked by Onionz adds a contrasting quality to the evolvement of the mix.

Honey’s production abilities also come into the play, and are a clear-cut indication of the efforts put into this addition to the series. The exclusive, Induceve ‘Time To Begin (Honey Dijon Throwback / Beatapella) mixes, display exactly this, with their infectious vibe, and peak-time dance-floor approach. As do her two interpretations of ‘Gioco’ by Style Of Eye, and Honey’s cut-up rejack of Pepe Bradock’s ‘classic’ remix of Iz & Diz’s ‘Mouth’ again showcasing a unique and attentive production style.

Honey Dijon was a fantastic choice for this comp, with such tuned-in, and enchanting choices, making this is a stellar addition to the essential ‘Through The Eyes Of’ series.
