Chicago DJ Paul Johnson is to have his leg amputated after being involved in a serious car accident last week.
The 'Get Get Down' producer was left with a broken spine and hip after the collision, and will have to have his right leg removed as a result of the injuries.
Johnson lost his left leg in 2003, meaning his will be a double amputee, and has been wheelchair-bound ever since he was shot and left unable to walk the same year.
Johnson has long been a staple of the Chicago house scene, and as well as his chart-busting 'Get Get Down', also released underground tracks for seminal labels like Peacefrog, Relief, Cajual, Moody Recordings, Crydamoure, Yellow Productions and Peppermint Jam.
Fellow Chicago legends Farley Jackmaster Funk and Glenn Underground held a benefit for him at the city's SmartBar earlier this week, while a Paypal fund has been set up to help foot his medical fees and you can donate here.
